A friend of mine recommended I try this place out, as it is one of the coffee places he hits up whenever he is visiting from Auckland (cheers Bob!) and I’ve been frequenting this joint a lot over the last couple of weeks. My first ever coffee there was off-the-hook and I’ve been a huge fan ever since. If you want delicious, smooth but still strong coffee, every time… this is a winner! The staff are always friendly and the service is pretty quick – even when they are busy.
The cafe is founded by Carl Sara who is a 4 times New Zealand Barista Champion so you know the coffee is gonna be on point! They have a small selection of menu and cabinet food on offer, and it is presented well and looks positively delicious – I can totally vouch for their bran muffins (ah-mazing!).
They have an awesome light, bright space, plenty of room with lots of tables, a great waiting area for takeaway coffees and just an all round great spot. The only thing that lets this cafe down, for me, is the chairs. I remember the first time I drove past I initially thought it was a generic chain cafe, because of the cheap (though I suspect they weren’t actually cheap) red plastic chairs and slightly dull white tables. Of course this would never stop me coming here, I just feel like it could be SO much more awesome with some cooler furniture.
Space: Bright, spacious and plenty of tables.
Coffee: 5 outta 5
